Fonestar AIP family is the solution for audio distribution and PA when the facility to be sonorized has a local area network already deployed. The LAN allows us to distrubute the audio along the falicities whereaver a ethernet socket or wifi access points is available.
AIP devices use multicast comunications to interconnect one with each other, sharing its own infomation and contents. All devices create unique network without the need of a server or hub to coordinate them. Our network protocol are reliable and when a devices is unavaible (turned off, disfunction, network issues, ...) the other devices can work as expected. This is because we called or protocol Hydra.
Multicast requirements
Most of the cases, multicast are enabled by default in simple networks, such as home or small business routers. The AIP devices are configured for these cases and they will work out of the box. But for more complex networks, it may need to configure the network switch to allow multicast traffic flow between subnetworks. The needs of AIP devices are:
- Allow IGMP frames in both ways.
-
Allow multicast traffic in both ways. Defaults:
- Multicast group: 233.252.0.128
- Comunications port: 30612
- Audio ports: from 31000 to 65536
- Allow UDP unicast port 69 to send files.
